Prosperity Project Leadership

The Prosperity Project has already received the support of a large group of business and community leaders, and we are pleased to have some of the most respected names in Phelps County as our co-chairs for the campaign.

Roger Allmand

Roger AllmandRoger Allmand was born in Huntley, Nebraska and graduated from Holdrege High School in 1957. The son of Walter and Verona Allmand, Roger grew up in the family manufacturing business, Allmand Brothers, eventually taking the reins of the company from his uncle and father. Roger and his wife, Marlis, have two sons, Brad and Bart.  Brad and his cousin Matt now serve as CEO and president respectively, operating the business as third-generation family members.  Roger is still involved in Allmand Brothers business and serves as chairman of the board. He is active in his church and several industry associations as well as a tireless promoter of Phelps County. His hobbies include family activities, flying, reading and learning.

Michele High

Michele HighAlthough she started her financial career as an FSA Loan Processor in 1986, Michele High has been actively engaged in farming since 1980. This tie to the land has paid off well in her chosen profession: as Senior Vice-President at Home Federal Savings and Loan Association in Holdrege, she has specialized in agricultural lending throughout her career. Michele has long been active in the community, and has held leadership roles in a number of organizations. She is currently serving on the board and executive committee of the PCDC; as vice president of the Phelps County CASA board; as a Foundation committee member for the Phelps Memorial Health Center; as secretary from Bertrand Immanuel Church; and as a member of the Holdrege Rotary. Michele and her husband Scott live near Bertrand where together they have a blended family of seven children and nine grandchildren.

Richard McClymont

Richard McClymontRichard L. McClymont, Jr. grew up in Holdrege and graduated from Holdrege High School in 1967. Richard and his wife Sherry were married in 1970 and Richard graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in 1975. He practiced in Gothenburg, Nebraska until 1981 when he returned to Holdrege to go into business with his father, at McClymont Implement, Inc,, the area’s John Deere dealer. Richard and his brother Ted built the business to include Alma, Nebraska and Smith Center and Phillipsburg Kansas. The business continued to grow and in 2001 they purchased part ownership in the Minden Terminal, merging all the locations into a single business, in 2007. In 2009, the company opened dealerships in Lexington and Gothenburg. Richard’s two older sons, Tyler and Alex have joined him in the business this year, and Spencer, their third son lives in San Diego.

Campaign committees

Although administration of the project ultimately falls to the Phelps County Development Corporation, the campaign co-chairs will be aided by an Operations Council and several committees to oversee progress and offer advice. In addition to the campaign co-chairs, members of this council include the chairs of the Public Relations and Government Councils.

Other leadership groups have been or are being recruited to help direct specific aspects of the campaign.
